Definition:

Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDKs) are key enzymes in the pathway of glucose metabolism, could inactivate the Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) by phosphorylating it and preserving the substrates pyruvate, lactate and alanine for gluconeogenesis.
