Description

CD105/Endoglin Protein, Human (Trx-His) is an accessory receptor for transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), and is expressed on endothelial cells.

Background

Endoglin (CD105) is an accessory receptor for transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) and its expression is up-regulated in actively proliferating endothelial cells. Endoglin is co-expressed with β-glycan, another component of the TGF-βR complex, in the microvascular endothelium of normal tissue. Endoglin is an appropriate marker for tumor-related angiogenesis and neovascularization. The endothelial cells of neoplasms are more prolific than endothelial cells of normal tissue and thus they express elevated endoglin levels[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
