RNA Aptamer Broccoli (sodium) can be used to visualize RNA expression or localization in live cells. In vitro Broccoli exhibits a similar high folding efficiency as Spinach2, but exhibits markedly lower dependence on magnesium for folding and increased thermostability. Additionally, unlike Spinach2, Broccoli does not require the use of a tRNA scaffold to promote its folding in vivo.
