Description

ALDH (Aldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD(P))) catalyzes the oxidation of aldehydes into their corresponding carboxylic acids with the concomitant reduction of the cofactor NAD(P) into NAD(P)H, is often used in biochemical studies. The ALDHs are one of many enzyme systems the body utilizes to alleviate aldehyde stress[1].

In Vitro

Purpose:
1. Disease diagnosis: can be used to quantify acetaldehyde in blood.
2. Development of anti-hangover products: Acetaldehyde dehydrogenase and alcohol dehydrogenase can be used together to make up for the lack of enzymes in the human body and reduce the har M of alcohol to the body.

Molecular Weight: 58 kDa.
Purity: >95%(by SDS-PAGE).
