Description

Metallo-beta-lactamase ligand 1 is a class B β-lactamase inhibitor with antibacterial activity extracted from patent WO2019221122A1, compound A[1].

In Vitro

One effective measure against β-lactam antibacterial resistant bacteria is to use an inhibitor of β-lactamase, the enzyme responsible for its resistance mechanism, together with an appropriate β-lactam antibacterial agent[1].
The toxicity of Metallo-beta-lactamase ligand 1 (Compound A) is extremely low in HeLa cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

After infecting mice with an experimental strain (E. coli strain into which a plasmid encoding class B β-lactamase (IMP-1) is introduced), Metallo-beta-lactamase ligand 1 (compound A; 100 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection) is administered, and life and death are observed. Administration of Metallo-beta-lactamase ligand 1 (compound A) significantly improves the survival rate[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
