GM-CSF (Granulocyte Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor) is a member of colony-stimulating factors which regulates proliferation, differentiation, and survival of hematopoietic cells including mature neutrophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells. GM-CSF is secreted by a large variety of cells including lymphocytes (B and T), macrophages, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells in response to informatory stimuli like cytokines and microbial products[1].
