Description

IVHD-valtrate, an active Valeriana jatamansi derivative, is against human ovarian cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. IVHD-valtrate induces cancer cells apoptosis and arrests the ovarian cancer cells in the G2/M phase. IVHD-valtrate has the potential to be a novel chemotherapeutic agent for the human ovarian cancer research[1].

IC50 & Target

IC50: apoptosis[1]

In Vitro

IVHD-valtrate inhibits the growth and proliferation of the A2780 and OVCAR-3 ovarian cancer cell lines in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
IVHD-valtrate results in a relatively low cytotoxicity to immortalized non-tumorigenic human ovarian surface epithelial cells (IOSE-144)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
