FGF-8e Protein, Human is an isoform of FGF-8, an essential factor during embryonic development, involved in the progression of prostate cancer.

Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 is an essential factor during embryonic development, overexpressed in several tumor types. Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 stimulates anti-apoptotic pathways and prevents tumor cell death^[1].

Measured in a cell proliferation assay using Balb/3T3 mouse fibroblast cells. The ED₅₀ for this effect is 1.064 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 939.85 units/mg.
