Description

Azido Myristic Acid is a click chemistry reagent containing an azide group. Azido Myristic Acid can be used to identify and characterize post-translationally myristylated proteins with using a simple and robust two-step labeling and detection technique[1].

In Vitro

Azido Myristic Acid could be a suitable substrate for enzymes. Due to the very small size of the azide group and its complete absence in any natural molecules the presence of azide group does affect the biodistribution of azido palmitic acid in comparison to the natural palmitic acid making it a suitable substrate for enzymes.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
