Description

Butriptyline (Butriptylene) is an orally active tricyclic antidepressant agent[1].

In Vivo

Butriptyline (1000 mg/kg; in diet; 10 weeks) shows anti-obesity effect in mice[1].
Butriptyline hydrochloride (2.5-30 mg/kg; i.p.; 10-15 day intervals) causes a dose dependent depression of the food reinforced responses and slightly depresses the avoidance reflex at the highest doses in male albino rats[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Female CFLP mice, monosodium glutamate (MSG)-induced obesity model[1]

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
