Fas/CD95 Protein, Human (Cell-Free, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P702277
Handling Instructions

The Fas/CD95 protein is a receptor for TNFSF6/FASLG and can initiate apoptotic events that are critical for programmed cell death. FADD promotes the recruitment of caspase-8 to form the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) and activate caspases that mediate apoptosis. Fas/CD95 Protein, Human (Cell-Free, His) is the recombinant human-derived Fas/CD95 protein, expressed by E. coli Cell-free , with N-10*His labeled tag. The total length of Fas/CD95 Protein, Human (Cell-Free, His) is 310 a.a., with molecular weight of 40.6 kDa.

Background

Fas, also known as CD95, serves as a receptor for TNFSF6/FASLG, initiating a cascade of apoptotic events crucial for programmed cell death. The adapter molecule FADD facilitates the recruitment of caspase-8 to the activated receptor, forming the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) and initiating the cascade of caspases that mediate apoptosis. FAS-mediated apoptosis is implicated in peripheral tolerance induction and the antigen-stimulated suicide of mature T-cells. Additionally, secreted isoforms 2 to 6 of Fas have been identified, which function to block apoptosis in vitro. Fas engages in diverse protein interactions, including DAXX, HIPK3, RIPK1, FAIM2, BABAM2, FEM1B, FADD, NOL3, and CALM, forming a complex network that regulates cell death signaling. The interaction with various molecules highlights the multifaceted roles of Fas in cellular processes, emphasizing its significance in immune regulation and apoptosis modulation.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
