Japanese encephalitis

Definition:

Japanese encephalitis is an infection of the central nervous system caused by Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), a flavivirus in the Flaviviridae family of +ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by Culex mosquitoes. JEV was first isolated in 1924 in Japan.
