1. GPCR/G Protein Neuronal Signaling
  2. 5-HT Receptor
  3. Eletriptan

Eletriptan (UK-116044) is a highly selective and orally active serotonin 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptor agonist, with pKi values of 8.0 and 8.9, respectively. Eletriptan has inhibitory effects on markers of neurogenic inflammation in rats. Eletriptan can be used for researching migraine.

At equivalent molar concentrations, both the salt and free forms of a compound exhibit comparable biological activity. Nevertheless, the salt form (Eletriptan hydrobromide) usually boasts enhanced water solubility and stability.

In Vivo

Eletriptan (10, 30, 100, 300 and 1000 µg/kg; i.v.) reduces total carotid blood flow in anaesthetised pigs by selectively reducing carotid arteriovenous anastomotic blood flow and increasing nutrient blood flow within the carotid vascular bed[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
