Description

Mead acid (5,8,11-Eicosatrienoic acid), an unsaturated (Omega-9) fatty acid, is an indicator of essential fatty acid deficiency[1].

In Vivo

Mead acid (MA) suppresses KPL-1 human breast cancer cell growth in culture with an IC50 value of 214.2 µM (65.7 µg/mL) for 72 h and significantly suppresses KPL-1 tumor growth and regional (axillary) lymph node metastasis in female athymic mice[1]

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
