GFRA1/GDNFR-alpha-1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P76949
COA Handling Instructions

GFRA1/GDNFR-α-1 protein is a receptor for GDNF and critically mediates GDNF-induced autophosphorylation and RET receptor activation. Presumably, two GDNFR-α-1 molecules form a complex with disulfide-linked GDNF, two RET molecules, and SORL1, suggesting the existence of a coordinated signaling mechanism. GFRA1/GDNFR-alpha-1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived GFRA1/GDNFR-alpha-1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His, C-6*His labeled tag. The total length of GFRA1/GDNFR-alpha-1 Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is 421 a.a., with molecular weight of 58-65 kDa.

Background

GFRA1/GDNFR-alpha-1 Protein serves as a receptor for GDNF and plays a crucial role in mediating the GDNF-induced autophosphorylation and activation of the RET receptor. It is proposed that two molecules of GDNFR-alpha-1 form a complex with the disulfide-linked GDNF dimer and two molecules of RET, suggesting a coordinated mechanism for signal transduction. GFRA1 interacts with RET, facilitating the intricate signaling pathways associated with GDNF-induced responses. Additionally, GFRA1 engages in interactions with SORL1, either alone or in a complex with GDNF. This interaction results in the internalization of GFRA1, without leading to its degradation, indicating a regulatory aspect of GFRA1 dynamics. These molecular interactions highlight the multifaceted role of GFRA1 in mediating GDNF signaling and emphasize its importance in cellular processes.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
