Background

TRIM16, functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, assumes a crucial role in orchestrating the autophagic response and ubiquitination processes in the face of lysosomal and phagosomal damages. Notably, it contributes to the stress-induced biogenesis and degradation of protein aggresomes by intricately regulating the p62-KEAP1-NRF2 signaling axis. A central aspect of its functionality lies in modulating ubiquitination levels and, consequently, the stability of NRF2, a key player in cellular stress responses. As a scaffold protein, TRIM16 facilitates the autophagic degradation of protein aggregates, forming interactions with p62/SQSTM, ATG16L1, and LC3B/MAP1LC3B. This multifaceted role positions TRIM16 as a guardian against oxidative stress-induced cell death, particularly in response to endomembrane damage.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
