Bolivian hemorrhagic fever

Definition:

Bolivian hemorrhagic fever is an infectious disease caused by Machupo virus (MACV), a New World arenavirus in the Arenaviridae family of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by rodents. MACV was first isolated in 1963 in Bolivia.
