What is Mass?
Mass (m) is the amount of matter present in a substance. The value is constant and, unlike weight, is not affected by gravity.
What is Molecular Weight?
Molecular Weight is the mass of a single molecule of a compound. It can be calculated by summing the atomic masses of each nuclide present in the molecule and is measured in Daltons. The atomic mass of all the known chemical elements can be found in the periodic table. For a bulk of molecules, molecular weight refers to a weighted average of the molecules in the compound. In biochemistry, Daltons and g/mol can be used interchangeably i.e., 1 Dalton = 1 g/mol.
What is Molar Concentration?
Molar concentration is the amount of a solute present in one unit of a solution. Its units are mol/L, mol/dm³, or mol/m³. Molar concentration, also known as molarity, can be denoted by the unit M.
How should I handle the products before formulation or use?
During transportation, the compounds may adhere to the neck or cap of the vial. Before opening the vial, please centrifuge to gather the compound at the bottom of the vial.
Is the compound sterile?
DMSO itself is strongly bactericidal and will not introduce bacteria to compounds. However, it is important to keep the operating environment and the instrument sterilized before experimental use. Compounds can also be sterilized by filtration prior to use depending on specific experimental requirements. High temperature and high pressure sterilization are not recommended.
