MCE Rapid Blocking Buffer (TBS-T) Powder (100 mL of 1×) mainly consists of fish gelatin protein. Each pouch can be diluted to 100 mL 1× blocking buffer, in which the concentration of the protein is 5%. Containing Tween 20, this product is widely used for the antibody blocking step in Western Blot or ELISA within 15 minutes.

This product provides a convenient way to make blocking buffer and eliminates the need to weigh and mix individual components.

Protocol

1. Prepare the working buffer

a. Add 1 pouch of Rapid Blocking Buffer (TBS-T) Powder into the cleaned beaker, dissolve with 50 mL distilled water under a magnetic stirrer.

b. Add distilled water to the solution in step 1 until the total volume is 100 mL. The final solution is 1× working buffer.

2. Blocking step

a. Place the membrane into the incubator box, add 10-20 mL 1× working buffer and incubate in the shaker incubator at room temperature for about 10 minutes.

b. The blocked membrane can be used for the subsequent experiments.

Storage

Store at room temperature for 3 years.
