RPMI 1640 contains glutathione and high concentration of vitamins, also contains biotin, vitamin B12, 4-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA) not found in MEM and DMEM, as well as high concentration of inositol and choline chloride. The 500 mL is defined as the base specification. All larger sizes correspond to incremental volumes of this base.

RPMI 1640 contains glutathione and high concentration of vitamins, also contains biotin, vitamin B12, 4-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA) not found in MEM and DMEM, as well as high concentration of inositol and choline chloride. Cell lines successfully cultured in RPMI 1640 include Hela, Jurkat, MCF-7, PC12, Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC), Astrocyte and Cancer cells.

MCE offers a range of different formulations of DMEM medium for different cell culture applications.
Storage

Store at 2-8℃, 1 year.

  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

    Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
