Description & Advantages
Human Serum Albumin (HSA) is synthesized by hepatocytes and represents the most abundant protein in human plasma. It exhibits multiple physiological and pharmacological functions, including antioxidant and esterase activities, as well as the ability to bind and transport a wide range of endogenous and exogenous molecules. In addition, HSA plays a vital role in maintaining plasma pH stability and osmotic pressure balance, making it an essential component of animal cell culture media.
MCE Recombinant Human Serum Albumin Solution (rHSA, 20%) is produced through high-efficiency expression in Pichia pastoris using recombinant DNA technology, followed by purification to obtain animal-origin–free human albumin. Compared with plasma-derived human serum albumin (pHSA), rHSA offers superior safety and lot-to-lot consistency, making it suitable for a wide range of cell culture applications. It can be widely used in various cell culture systems and is particularly suitable for maintaining the undifferentiated growth and expansion of human embryonic stem cells (hESC) and induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) under both feeder-dependent and feeder-free conditions.
Protocol
According to experimental needs, add an appropriate amount of Recombinant Human Serum Albumin Solution (rHSA, 20%) directly into the cell culture medium under sterile conditions. Mix gently until homogeneous.
