CC Chemokine Receptor

CC chemokine (or β-chemokine) subfamily is one of the largest subfamilies of chemokines composed of 28 chemotactic cytokine ligands (CCL1-28). The chemokine ligands are defined based on the positioning of their initial cysteine residues. Thus, CC chemokine ligands (CCLs) have two adjoining amino-terminal cysteine residues. Actually, among them, CCL9 and CCL10 denote the same chemokine. All these chemokines are ligands for 10 receptors-CC motif chemokine receptors (CCR)1-10. Just like the rest of chemokines, CC chemokines are crucial for the functioning of the immune system cells.
