MCE Coomassie Blue Fast Staining Solution (No Heating, 10×) uses Coomassie Brilliant Blue G250 as the dye. It can be used for rapid, sensitive staining of protein gels in SDS-PAGE or Native-PAGE without contamination, or for detecting residual proteins on PAGE gels after Western Blot transfer. MCE Coomassie Blue Fast Staining Solution (No Heating, 10×) uses Coomassie Brilliant Blue G250 as the dye. It can be used for rapid, sensitive staining of protein gels in SDS-PAGE or Native-PAGE without contamination, or for detecting residual proteins on PAGE gels after Western Blot transfer.

This product is free of methanol, acetic acid, or other toxic or irritating reagents. It stains quickly, without the need for heating or destaining. Protein bands of 100 ng can be detected in 5 min, and bands as low as 10 ng in 30 min. After staining, the residual staining solution can be rinsed off with tap water for observation and photography. Further rinsing with water on a shaker can completely remove any weak background.

Protocol

1. Dilute Coomassie Blue Fast Staining Solution (No Heating, 10×) 1 : 10 with ddH2O to prepare 1× working solution and mix thoroughly.

2. After SDS-PAGE or Native-PAGE, place the gel in a clean container and add enough 1× staining solution to completely immerse the gel.

3. Stain at room temperature with gentle shaking. Approximately 100 ng protein bands can be detected within about 5 min; extending staining to approximately 30 min increases sensitivity and can detect bands as low as about 10 ng.

4. Discard the staining solution and rinse residual dye from the gel with tap water before observation and imaging.

5. If background remains, continue washing the gel in water on a shaker until the desired background is obtained.

Note: No heating, methanol/acetic-acid fixation, or conventional destaining solution is required.
