Background

  • Function

Radixin is a Probably plays a crucial role in the binding of the barbed end of actin filaments to the plasma membrane

  • Subcellular Localization

Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side; Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton; Cleavage furrow; Cell projection, microvillus; Cell projection, stereocilium

  • Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification

    P35241 has 5 isomers: P35241-1: 68564 Da (predicted); P35241-2: 29668 Da (predicted); P35241-3: 23413 Da (predicted); P35241-4: 52679 Da (predicted); P35241-5: 71049 Da (predicted).
Phosphorylated by tyrosine-protein kinases. Phosphorylation by ROCK2 suppresses the head-to-tail association of the N-terminal and C-terminal halves resulting in an opened conformation which is capable of actin and membrane-binding (By similarity)

  • Subunit

Binds NHERF1 (PubMed:9430655). Interacts with NHERF1, NHERF2, LAYN, MME/NEP and ICAM2. Interacts with CPNE1 (via VWFA domain) and CPNE4 (via VWFA domain). Interacts (via FERM domain) with SPN/CD43 cytoplasmic tail (By similarity). Interacts with CD44 (By similarity). Interacts with CLIC5; may work together in a complex which also includes EZR and MYO6 to stabilize linkages between the plasma membrane and subjacent actin cytoskeleton at the base of stereocilia (By similarity)
