Description & Advantages
MCE G-5 Supplement (100×) is a serum-free, chemically defined cell culture supplement developed based on the classic Bottenstein G-5 formulation. It is suitable for the culture of primary glial cells and neural cells with myelination properties. This supplement contains growth factors, hormones, insulin, transferrin, and other components related to cell growth and maintenance.
This product is provided as a 100× concentrated solution and is recommended for use with Neurobasal Medium. It can also be added to MCE DMEM (Cat. No.: HY-K3001), DMEM/F-12 (Cat. No.: HY-K3002), or other appropriate basal media according to cell type and experimental requirements. It is suitable for neuroscience, medical, and biological research applications.
Protocol
1. Before use, thaw G-5 Supplement (100×) naturally at 4°C. After completely thawing, gently mix the solution. Avoid vigorous shaking.
2. Add G-5 Supplement (100×) to the appropriate basal medium at a ratio of 1:100 and gently mix before use.
Note: a. After thawing, this product is recommended for immediate use. If repeated use is required, aliquot according to the amount needed for each use and store at −20°C to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
b. The prepared complete medium is recommended for immediate use. If storage is required, protect from light and store at 4°C. Use within 2 weeks.

Attention
1. This product has been sterilized by filtration. Use aseptic techniques during handling to prevent contamination.
2. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles after aliquoting. Use immediately after thawing.
3. This product appears as a light yellow to transparent light yellow liquid. White precipitates may appear after storage at −20°C, which usually disappear after natural thawing and thorough mixing. Do not use the product if the precipitate remains or if the solution shows obvious turbidity, particles, or other abnormalities.
4. This product is for R&D use only, not for drug, household, or other uses.
5. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves to operate.
