MCE Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin (PSN) (100×), Sterile is used to prevent bacterial contamination of cell culture due to their effective combined action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
MCE Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin (100×) is a liquid formulation which contains 5,000 units/mL of penicillin, 5 mg/mL of streptomycin, and 10 mg/mL of Neomycin in 0.85% NaCl solution. Common working concentration for penicillin is 50 units/mL, for streptomycin is 50 μg/mL, and for Neomycin is 100 μg/mL.
Protocol
The Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin (PSN) (100×), Sterile can be used according to one of the following methods.
1. Add Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin (PSN) (100×), Sterile in proportion (1:100 (v/v)) to the sterile cell solution, mix well before use.
2. Add Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin (PSN) (100×), Sterile in proportion (1:100 (v/v)) to the cell culture solution, filter and sterilize.
