Description & Advantages
MCE Penicillin-Streptomycin-Glutamine (100×), sterile is used to prevent bacterial contamination of cell culture due to their effective combined action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
MCE Penicillin-Streptomycin-Glutamine (100×) is a liquid formulation which contains 10,000 units/mL of penicillin, 10 mg/mL of streptomycin, and 29.2 mg/mL of Glutamine in 0.85% NaCl. Common working concentration for penicillin is 100 units/mL, for streptomycin is 100 μg/mL, and for Glutamine is 292 μg/mL.
Protocol
General Protocol
1. This product is a sterile 100× stock containing Penicillin at 10,000 U/mL, Streptomycin at 10 mg/mL, and L-Glutamine at 29.2 mg/mL.
2. Completely thaw and mix gently. Under sterile conditions, add at 1 : 100, i.e. 10 μL per 1 mL medium or 10 mL per 1 L medium.
3. At 1× working concentration, the final concentrations are 100 U/mL Penicillin, 100 μg/mL Streptomycin, and 292 μg/mL L-Glutamine.
4. Mix thoroughly after addition and use for routine cell culture. The antibiotic concentration may be adjusted according to cell type and experimental purpose.
Note: This is a sterile solution and should be handled aseptically. Store at -20°C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and aliquot for routine use when appropriate.
