IL-10 Receptor

The interleukin 10 receptor (IL-10R) is a type II cytokine receptor consisting of a tetramer of 2 alpha and 2 beta subunits. The α subunit, also known as IL-10RI, is a ligand-binding subunit, while the β subunit, also known as IL-10RII, is a co-subunit required for signal transduction. IL-10 receptor expression is mainly characterized in cells of the hematopoietic spectrum, such as dendritic cells, B cells, T cells, NK cells, neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. When IL-10R binds to its ligand IL-10, it induces phosphorylation of Jak1 and Tyk2 and activates the transcription factor STAT3. activated STAT3 monomers dimerize and enter the nucleus to induce gene expression. IL-10R-mediated signaling pathways play an important role in immune tolerance, T cell and DC development, and B cell growth and differentiation[1][2].
