Amphotericin B, Sterile
Based on 2 publication(s) in Google Scholar
MCE Amphotericin B, Sterile (250 μg/mL) is a filtered and sterilized antibiotic solution that can be used directly in cell culture. Amphotericin B is a polyene antifungal antibiotic produced by Streptomyces nodosus. It can bind with sterols to form transmembrane channels, resulting in the leakage of intracellular substances, thus inhibiting fungal and yeast contamination.

Description & Advantages
MCE Amphotericin B, Sterile (250 μg/mL) is a filtered and sterilized antibiotic solution that can be used directly in cell culture. Amphotericin B is a polyene antifungal antibiotic produced by Streptomyces nodosus. It can bind with sterols to form transmembrane channels, resulting in the leakage of intracellular substances, thus inhibiting fungal and yeast contamination.
This solution contains 250 μg Amphotericin B and 205 μg sodium deoxycholate per milliliter. Sodium deoxycholate is a solubilizer in distilled water.
Protocol
The Amphotericin B solution can be used according to the following methods:
1. Add Amphotericin B solution in proportion to the sterile cell culture solution, mix well before use.
2. Add Amphotericin B solution in proportion to the cell culture solution, filter and sterilize.
