Description & Advantages
Tris-Glycine (TG) is widely used as an electrophoresis buffer for Native-PAGE. TG buffer is also used for Western Blot when prepared in 20% methanol.
MCE Tris-Glycine Powder (1 L of 1×) consists of Tris and Glycine. Each pouch can be diluted to 1 L 1× TG buffer, in which the concentration of Tris is 25 mM and the concentration of Glycine is 192 mM. This product provides a convenient way to make TG buffer and eliminates the need to weigh and mix individual components.
Protocol
1. Add 1 pouch of Tris-Glycine Powder into the cleaned beaker, dissolve with 600 mL distilled water (or 200 mL methanol and 400 mL distilled water when used for membrane transfer in Western Blot) under a magnetic stirrer.
2. Add distilled water to the solution in step 1 until the total volume is 1 L. The final solution is 1× TG buffer.
Note: The pH of the 1× TG buffer is 8.3 ± 0.2 @ 25°C.
