Ham's F-12K (Kaighn's) 

Ham’s F-12K Medium (Kaighn’s Modification of Ham’s F-12) is a modified version of Ham’s F-12 Medium. Ham’s F-12 was originally developed based on Ham’s F-10 Medium, with increased concentrations of choline, inositol, putrescine, and several amino acids to better support cell growth. Ham’s F-12K further improves upon Ham’s F-12 by increasing the concentrations of amino acids and sodium pyruvate, reducing glucose content, and optimizing the composition and concentrations of inorganic salts.

Ham’s F-12K Medium was originally designed for the culture of primary human hepatocytes and differentiated rat and chicken cells. It is particularly suitable for single-cell cloning of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells under serum-free conditions. When supplemented with serum, it can also be used for the culture of various other mammalian cell types, including chondrocytes and rat prostate epithelial cells.

Protect from light.

Add thawed serum, antibiotics, and other required supplements to the medium at the desired ratios. Mix thoroughly to prepare complete culture medium.

Note: a. A final fetal bovine serum (FBS) concentration of 10% is recommended. For low-serum culture, it is recommended to optimize the FBS concentration for each specific cell line.

b. This product employs a sodium bicarbonate buffering system (2.5 g/L), it requires a 5–10% CO₂ atmosphere to maintain physiological pH stability.
