MCE McCoy's 5A Modified Medium is a nutrient-rich medium designed for the culture of a wide range of cell types and was originally developed for the cultivation of spleen cells. This medium is suitable for culturing various mammalian cell types, including normal cells, tumor cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, bone marrow cells, and other tissue-derived cells. In addition, this medium can also be used for primary cell culture.

McCoy's 5A Modified Medium contains 3 g/L glucose, sodium bicarbonate, L-glutamine, and other nutrients, but does not contain HEPES or sodium pyruvate. Appropriate supplements should be added according to the specific cell type and experimental requirements. For routine culture, approximately 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS)may be added. For low-serum or serum-free culture applications, supplements such as Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium (ITS) (HY-K1018) may be added as required.
This product contains L-glutamine. L-glutamine gradually degrades in liquid culture medium during storage. Therefore, when the medium is stored at 2–8°C for an extended period, additional L-glutamine supplementation is recommended according to cell requirements and growth performance.
Note: This product does not contain antibiotics. If required, Penicillin-Streptomycin Solution (HY-K1006) may be added according to experimental requirements. After adding serum, ITS, or antibiotics, the prepared complete medium should be stored at 2–8°C and recommended for use within 1 week.

2. This product is used for cell culture. Cells should be maintained in a humidified incubator at the appropriate temperature with 5%-10% CO2 to maintain suitable growth conditions.
