Verification Images

  • Experimental Validation Results for BSA Antibody (YA4759)
Western blot analysis was performed by loading 1 μg (Lane 2), 2 μg (Lane 3), 2.5 μg (Lane 4) and 5 μg (Lane 5) of BSA using BSA antibody. Proteins were transferred onto a 0.45 μm PVDF membrane using the Trans-Blot® Turbo system for 13 min. The membrane was then blocked with 5% nonfat milk in TBST (HY-K1025) for 1 h at room temperature. Thhe primary antibody (1:1000) and loading control antibody GAPDH Antibody (HRP) (HY-P80954A) (1:2500) were diluted in 5% nonfat milk in TBST and incubated with the membrane overnight at 4°C. After washing, the membrane of primary antibody was incubated with HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit/mouse IgG secondary antibody (HY-P8001/HY-P8004) (1:5000) diluted in 5% nonfat milk in TBST for 1 h at room temperature. Protein bands were visualized using an Ultra High Sensitivity ECL detection kit (HY-K1005).

Background

  • Function

BSA binds water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 80% of all plasma zinc. Major calcium and magnesium transporter in plasma, binds approximately 45% of circulating calcium and magnesium in plasma (Probable). Potentially has more than two calcium-binding sites and might additionally bind calcium in a non-specific manner. The shared binding site between zinc and calcium at residue Asp-272 suggests a crosstalk between zinc and calcium transport in the blood (Probable). The rank order of affinity is zinc > calcium > magnesium (Probable). Binds to the bacterial siderophore enterobactin and inhibits enterobactin-mediated iron uptake of E.coli, and may thereby limit the utilization of iron and growtH2O2 enteric bacteria such as E.coli. Does not prevent iron uptake by the bacterial siderophore aerobactin[1][2].
