Background
-
Function
RAB11FIP1 is an A Rab11 effector protein involved in the endosomal recycling process. Also involved in controlling membrane trafficking along the phagocytic pathway and in phagocytosis. Interaction with RAB14 may function in the process of neurite formation[1].
-
Subcellular Localization
Recycling endosome; Cytoplasmic vesicle; Cytoplasmic vesicle, phagosome membrane
-
Expression
Tissue_specificity:Isoform 2 is expressed in brain, heart, testis, lung, spleen, ovary and small intestine -
Subunit
Interacts with RAB11A (GTP-bound form); the interaction induces RAB11FIP1 recruitment to membranes (PubMed:26032412). Interacts with RAB14 (GTP-bound form) (PubMed:26032412)
