Function：Together with KRT19, helps to link the contractile apparatus to dystrophin at the costameres of striated muscle

Subcellular Localization：Cytoplasm; Nucleus, nucleoplasm; Nucleus matrix

Expression：
Tissue_specificity:Aggregates of dystrophin and actin are observed in muscle fibers at the sarcoplasmic sarcomere and sarcomere. They are also expressed in the gingival mucosa and hard palate of the oral cavity.

Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification：P05787 has 2 isomers: P05787-1: 53704 Da (predicted); P05787-2: 56608 Da (predicted).
Phosphorylation on serine residues is enhanced during EGF stimulation and mitosis. Ser-74 phosphorylation plays an important role in keratin filament reorganization;O-glycosylated.
