  • Function

    C9orf167 (TOR4A) is a member of the Torsin family A, belonging to the AAA+ ATPase superfamily. It is located in the endoplasmic reticulum lumen and nuclear membrane, and participates in protein folding and platelet degranulation. This protein is widely expressed in various tissues. TOR4A, as an oncogene, promotes glioma cell proliferation and survival through the AKT signaling pathway, while DNER can exert a tumor-suppressive effect by inhibiting TOR4A. Furthermore, C9orf167 is a downstream target gene of KLF9 and may be involved in the pathogenesis of endometrial cancer.
