  • Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rat heart tissue using Tropomyosin alpha 1 Chain Antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 8 minutes. The tissues were blocked in QuickBlock for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody at 1/100 dilution in 4℃ overnight. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Background
Function：Binds to actin filaments in muscle and non-muscle cells (PubMed:23170982). Plays a central role, in association with the troponin complex, in the calcium dependent regulation of vertebrate striated muscle contraction (PubMed:23170982). Smooth muscle contraction is regulated by interaction with caldesmon. In non-muscle cells is implicated in stabilizing cytoskeleton actin filaments
