Western blot analysis of extracts from Hela (lane 2(20μg), NIH/3T3 (lane 3(20μg), C6 (lane 4(20μg), using RAMP1 Antibody. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody and Loading control antibody (Beta Actin, HY-P80438, 1/3000) was used in 5% BSA in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Mouse/Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (HY-P8004/HY-P8001, 1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Function
RAMP1 is an Accessory protein that interacts with and modulates the function of G-protein coupled receptors including calcitonin gene-related peptide type 1 receptor (CALCRL) and calcitonin receptor (CALCR). Required for the transport of CALCRL to the plasma membrane. Together with CALCRL, form the receptor complex for the calcitonin gene-related peptides CGRP1/CALCA and CGRP2/CALCB. Together with CALCR, form the AMYR1 receptor complex for amylin/IAPP and CGRP1/CALCA[1][2][3][4].

Subcellular Localization
Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein

Expression
Tissue_specificity:Expressed in many tissues including the uterus, bladder, brain, pancreas and gastro-intestinal tract -
Subunit
Heterodimer of CALCRL and RAMP1; the interaction induces allosteric modulation of CALCRL function and CGRP1/CALCA and CGRP2/CALCB ligand specificity (PubMed:18725456, PubMed:20826335, PubMed:33602864). Heterodimer of CALCR and RAMP1; interaction forms the AMYR1 receptor complex for amylin/IAPP and CGRP1/CALCA ligands (PubMed:35324283, PubMed:38603770)
