Function

MRRF is responsible for the disassembly of ribosomes from messenger RNA at the termination of mitochondrial protein biosynthesis. Acts in collaboration with GFM2. Promotes mitochondrial ribosome recycling by dissolution of intersubunit contacts^[1]^[2].
