Function
Frizzled 7 is a Wnt protein receptor. Most frizzled protein receptors are coupled to the classical β-catenin signaling pathway, leading to Dishevelled protein activation, GSK-3 kinase inhibition, β-catenin nuclear accumulation, and Wnt target gene activation. Upon ligand activation, Frizzled 7 binds to CCDC88C/DAPLE, displacing DVL1 from FZD7, thereby inhibiting the canonical Wnt signaling pathway. CCDC88C then activates the G protein and triggers the non-canonical Wnt response.
