Tissue_specificity:This protein is present in the stomach, with the highest expression levels in the upper gastric mucosal cells (protein level) . It is also expressed in goblet cells of the small intestine, large intestine, and rectum; submucosal glands of the esophagus; mucous acini of the sublingual glands; submucosal glands of the trachea; and epithelial cells of the pancreatic exocrine ducts, but not detected in other parts of the pancreas (protein level) . Scattered expression is seen in gallbladder epithelial cells and vaginal submucosal glands, and weak expression is seen in bronchial goblet cells of the pseudostratified epithelium of the respiratory system (protein level) . It is also detectable in urine (protein level) . It is highly expressed in breast cancer, but at lower levels in normal breast tissue. In MCF-7 cells, its expression is regulated by estrogen. It is strongly expressed in normal gastric mucosa and regenerating tissue surrounding gastrointestinal ulcer lesions, but at lower levels in gastric cancer (protein level) . -
