Background
-
Function
Switch Associated Protein 70 is a Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependent guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) which, independently of RAS, transduces signals from tyrosine kinase receptors to RAC. It also mediates signaling of membrane ruffling. Regulates the actin cytoskeleton as an effector or adapter protein in response to agonist stimulated phosphatidylinositol (3,4)-bisphosphate production and cell protrusion

-
Expression
Tissue_specificity:It is expressed only in mature B cells, including B cells associated with mucosa-associated tissues and bronchus-associated tissues (PubMed: 10681448) . It is widely expressed. It is abundant in the spleen, and also present in high concentrations in the kidneys, lungs, and liver. It has also been found in monocytes and macrophages (PubMed: 12925760) . -
Subunit
The SWAP complex consists of NPM1, NCL, PARP1 and SWAP70
