Western blot analysis was performed on extracts from HepG2 (lane 1, 15 μg), HT-29 (lane 2, 15 μg), Hela (lane 3, 15 μg), 293T (lane 4, 15 μg), SH-SY5Y (lane 5, 15 μg), and A549 (lane 6, 15 μg) using ALDH7A1 Rabbit mAb.Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non - fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight. The primary antibody (1:1000 dilution) and the loading control antibody (GAPDH, HY-P80137, 1:60000 dilution) were incubated in 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 1 hour at 37°C.Goat Anti - Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (1:20000 dilution) was then applied for 40 minutes at 37°C.
Background
-
Function
ALDH7A1 multifunctional enzyme mediating important protective effects. Metabolizes betaine aldehyde to betaine, an important cellular osmolyte and methyl donor. Protects cells from oxidative stress by metabolizing a number of lipid peroxidation-derived aldehydes. Involved in lysine catabolism
-
Subcellular Localization
Cytoplasm, cytosol; Nucleus; Mitochondrion
-
Expression
Tissue_specificity:Abundant in hepatoma cells and fetal cochlea, ovary, eye, heart, adrenal gland, liver and kidney. Low levels present in human peripheral blood leukocytes and fetal brain, thymus, spleen, skeletal muscle, lung and tongue -
