Western blot analysis of extracts from Hela (lane 2, 20ug), Jurkat (lane3, 40μg), U251 (lane4, 20μg) and SiHa (lane5, 20μg) using NUP155 Antibody (HY-P83378). Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1000) and Loading control antibody (Beta Actin, HY-P80993, 1/10,000) was used in 5% non-fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (HY-P8001,1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
Background
-
Function
NUP155 is essential component of nuclear pore complex. Could be essessential for embryogenesis. Nucleoporins may be involved both in binding and translocating proteins during nucleocytoplasmic transport
-
Subcellular Localization
Nucleus, nuclear pore complex; Nucleus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side; Nucleus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Nucleoplasmic side
-
Expression
Tissue_specificity:Expressed in all tissues tested, including heart, brain, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas -
Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification
O75694 has 2 isomers: O75694-1: 155199 Da (predicted); O75694-2: 149016 Da (predicted).
Phosphorylated. Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation may be important for the function of NUP155 and may play a role in the reversible disassembly of the nuclear pore complex during mitosis (By similarity);Disulfide-linked to NUP62. The inner channel of the NPC has a different redox environment from the cytoplasm and allows the formation of interchain disulfide bonds between some nucleoporins, the significant increase of these linkages upon oxidative stress reduces the permeability of the NPC (By similarity) -
Subunit
Interacts with GLE1. Able to form a heterotrimer with GLE1 and NUP42 in vitro. Forms a complex with NUP35, NUP93, NUP205 and lamin B
