Background
Function:O96013: Serine/threonine-protein kinase that plays a role in a variety of different signaling pathways including cytoskeleton regulation, cell adhesion turnover, cell migration, growth, proliferation or cell survival (PubMed:26598620). Activation by various effectors including growth factor receptors or active CDC42 and RAC1 results in a conformational change and a subsequent autophosphorylation on several serine and/or threonine residues. Phosphorylates and inactivates the protein phosphatase SSH1, leading to increased inhibitory phosphorylation of the actin binding/depolymerizing factor cofilin.
Q9P286: Serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a role in a variety of different signaling pathways including cytoskeleton regulation, cell migration, proliferation or cell survival. Activation by various effectors including growth factor receptors or active CDC42 and RAC1 results in a conformational change and a subsequent autophosphorylation on several serine and/or threonine residues. Phosphorylates the proto-oncogene RAF1 and stimulates its kinase activity. Promotes cell survival by phosphorylating the BCL2 antagonist of cell death BAD. Phosphorylates CTNND1, probably to regulate cytoskeletal organization and cell morphology. Keeps microtubules stable through MARK2 inhibition and destabilizes the F-actin network leading to the disappearance of stress fibers and focal adhesions
Q9NQU5: Serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a role in the regulation of gene transcription. The kinase activity is induced by various effectors including AR or MAP2K6/MAPKK6. Phosphorylates the DNA-binding domain of androgen receptor/AR and thereby inhibits AR-mediated transcription. Also inhibits ESR1-mediated transcription. May play a role in cytoskeleton regulation by interacting with IQGAP1. May protect cells from apoptosis through phosphorylation of BAD

Q9P286: Mitochondrion; Cytoplasm; Nucleus
Q9NQU5: Cytoplasm; Nucleus
Expression:
Tissue_specificity: O96013: Highest expression in prostate, testis and colon
Q9P286: Predominantly expressed in brain
Q9NQU5: Selectively expressed in brain and testis, with lower levels in multiple tissues including prostate and breast
Subunit:O96013: Interacts tightly with GTP-bound but not GDP-bound CDC42/p21 and weakly with RAC1 (PubMed:15827085, PubMed:26598620). Interacts with INKA1 (PubMed:26607847)
Q9P286: Interacts tightly with GTP-bound but not GDP-bound CDC42/p21 and RAC1. Interacts with MARK2, leading to inhibit MARK2 independently of kinase activity. Interacts with RHOD and RHOH
Q9NQU5: Interacts tightly with GTP-bound but not GDP-bound CDC42/p21 and RAC1 (By similarity). Interacts with the androgen receptor AR and the estrogen receptor ESR1. Interacts with IQGAP1 and PPM1B

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
