Background	Glucocorticoid Receptor: Enables several functions, including glucocorticoid receptor activity; identical protein binding activity; and protein kinase binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of pri-miRNA transcription by RNA polymerase II. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including gland development; glucocorticoid receptor signaling pathway; and regulation of cellular biosynthetic process. Located in cytosol; membrane; and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; lung; and sensory organ. Used to study primary hyperaldosteronism. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including anorexia nervosa; lung disease (multiple); major depressive disorder; obesity; and renal cell carcinoma.
