Western blot analysis was performed on extracts from Mouse brain (lane 1, 15 μg), and Rat brain (lane 2, 15 μg) using VAMP2 Rabbit mAb.Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non-fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight. The primary antibody (1:1000 dilution) and the loading control antibody (GAPDH, HY-P80137, 1:20000 dilution) were incubated in 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 1 hour at 37°C.Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1:20000 dilution) was then applied for 40 minutes at 37°C.

Western blot analysis of extracts from C6(lane 2(20ug) and C6(lane 3(40ug) using VAMP2 Antibody (HY-P81041) Rabbit mAb. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (1/1000) and Loading control antibody (Beta Actin, HY-P83730, 1/10000) was used in 5% non-fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Mouse/Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (1/10000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
Background
-
Function
VAMP2 is involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane. Major SNARE protein of synaptic vesicles which mediates fusion of synaptic vesicles to release neurotransmitters. Essential for fast vesicular exocytosis and activity-dependent neurotransmitter release as well as fast endocytosis that mediates rapid reuse of synaptic vesicles. Modulates the gating characteristics of the delayed rectifier voltage-dependent potassium channel KCNB1[1].

Subunit
Interacts with VAPA and VAPB. Interacts with WDFY2, PRKCZ and PRKCI (PubMed:17313651). Forms a complex with WDFY2 and PRKCZ (PubMed:17313651).
