Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Mouse cerebellum tissue using Vimentin Antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 8 minutes. The tissues were blocked in QuickBlock for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody (HY-P80371, 1/5000) in 4℃ overnight. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Background

Function
Vimentins are class-III intermediate filaments found in various non-epithelial cells, especially mesenchymal cells. Vimentin is attached to the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, and mitochondria, either laterally or terminally. Plays a role in cell directional movement, orientation, cell sheet organization and Golgi complex polarization at the cell migration front (By similarity). Protects SCRIB from proteasomal degradation and facilitates its localization to intermediate filaments in a cell contact-mediated manner (By similarity); Involved with LARP6 in the stabilization of type I collagen mRNAs for CO1A1 and CO1A2

Expression
Tissue_specificity:It is highly expressed in fibroblasts, expressed in small amounts in T cells and B cells, and expressed very low or not at all in Burkitt lymphoma cell lines. It is expressed in many hormone-independent breast cancer cell lines.
Induction:Up-regulated by muramyl-dipeptide and lipopolysaccharide -
