Western blot analysis of extracts from Mouse liver tissue (lane2(20μg), Mouse spleen tissue (lane3(20μg), HepG2 (lane4(20μg) and HEK293 (lane5(20μg) using Albumin Antibody (HY-P80010). Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% non-fat milk in TBST at 4°C overnight. The primary antibody (1/1000) and Loading control antibody (Beta Actin, HY-P80993, 1/10,000) was used in 5% non-fat milk in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (HY-P8001, 1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rat liver tissue using Albumin Antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 8 minutes. The tissues were blocked in QuickBlock for 20 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody at 1/100 dilution in 4℃ overnight. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Function
Albumin binds water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs (Probable). Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood (Probable). Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 80% of all plasma zinc. Major calcium and magnesium transporter in plasma, binds approximately 45% of circulating calcium and magnesium in plasma. Potentially has more than two calcium-binding sites and might additionally bind calcium in a non-specific manner. The shared binding site between zinc and calcium at residue Asp-273 suggests a crosstalk between zinc and calcium transport in the blood. The rank order of affinity is zinc > calcium > magnesium. Binds to the bacterial siderophore enterobactin and inhibits enterobactin-mediated iron uptake of E.coli from ferric transferrin, and may thereby limit the utilization of iron and growtH2O2 enteric bacteria such as E.coli. Does not prevent iron uptake by the bacterial siderophore aerobactin[1][2].

Subunit
Interacts with FCGRT; this interaction regulates ALB homeostasis (PubMed:28330995). Interacts with TASOR (By similarity). In plasma, occurs in a covalently-linked complex with cH2O2ophore-bound alpha-1-microglobulin with molar ratio 1:2 and 1:1; this interaction does not prevent fatty acid binding to ALB
