Brazilian hemorrhagic fever

Definition:

Brazilian hemorrhagic fever is an infectious disease caused by Sabia virus (SABV), a New World arenavirus in the Arenaviridae family of -ssRNA viruses, and transmitted by rodents. SABV was first isolated in 1993 in Brazil.
